A very warmwelcome to everyone taking the time to look at our website. My name is Pam Venn, and I have owned and been owned by Golden Retrievers for 25 years.  My son Marc has had a very important role in the training, loving and caring for all the dogs..    I have always loved Goldens, and as such ,they are very much part of the family and my lifestyle.

Heronwood Golden Retrievers is a very small concern located in Mt Eliza on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula here in Victoria.  (A dogs paradise with both beach and bush at your doorstep) Every now and again, one of the girls is mated for a litter ,and this is usually done at a time when I breed to keep one for myself.  There have only been a few girls in action - they have all lived to a ripe old age of 16 to 17!!!

I have in the past been involved with showing, am a member of the Victorian Canine "Council and was a member of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria for 20 years.

My oldest bitch, Casey was shown earlier on with success, being placed at the three Victorian Championship shows she entered.  I have done obedience with all my dogs, and Casey went on to obedience trials, bringing home many ribbons. However   children's sporting activities took over and her main job was then to be cheer squad leader for football and baseball teams.   And these days, my weekends are taken up riding and showing my Arab horses, so the girls spend much time in the horse paddock having a wonderful time and more often than not, rolling in something that they shouldn't!!

My breeding program  goal is  always to produce  quality dogs of type, soundness and above all, temperament .Casey has the most magnificent temperament and it seems to pass down through her litters and those of her grandchildren. Both the dams and the sires are tested for hips and eyes, elbow and heart.

Puppies are raised in my home and treated as part of the family.  I do start house training each of them, and give instructions to all new owners on how to continue this training.  All the puppies go with a puppy pack, full feeding/training instructions, and I am always available for any questions concerns etc should they arise, and give full follow up service
