| In January 2001, I purchased my first ever horse - a beautiful purebred arabian mare, Pearl (Tarlea DiamondsNPearls). My life changed, and I found a best mate. Pearl and I have been on quite a learning adventure, as she had not been ridden, although broken in, and I had only done a few trail rides.
We had a few lessons, and for a few years I rode mainly in the large 5 acre paddock where she was agisted, and on trail rides. Then I joined an adult riding club, and a whole new world of dressage, jumping and showing opened up. Pearl has now got quite a few champion ribbons to her collection, and our pride and joy, the supreme Arabian at the Berwick show in 2007.
Poppy (Tarlea She's so Fine ) joined us as a 2 year old to keep Pearl company. A beautiful bay purebred arab, she was an absolute delight to have around, and although not broken in, she used to come for long walks with Pearl and I. They were best buddies, and were together for nearly 3 years until a change of agistment forced Poppy back to her owner/breeder.
Now I have my own small property, and I have a gorgeous 21yo chestnut purebred arabian mare - Dante Shahtiya. Tia came from a knackery - there through absolutely no fault of her own, and is the most delightful horse to have around - so gentle and quiet. She and Pearl are extraordinarily close.
